'Climate Change, Waste Recycling & Green Energy'


Shri SM AgarwalExecutive Director, LMA, summarized the focal points emerged out of speeches of the inaugural sessions and proposed a vote of thanks to the inaugural speakers, audience,who joined the inaugural despite a working day,management colleges for deputing their management students to participate in the event,UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited & UP Khadi & Gramodyog Board for supporting the event and media for covering the deliberations.

At the end of the inaugural session the dignitaries were felicitated. The session was concluded with presentation of mementos to the dignitaries of the inaugural session.


Technical Sessions

Session 1: Climate Change & Waste Recycling

The speakers of the first technical session were Dr GSC Rao, President, Sugar Technologists Association of India, New Delhi and Ms Bharati Chaturvedi, Founder, Chlntan Environmental Research and Action Group, New Delhi.The session was chaired by Dr. Rajanikanth, Scientist, Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaebotany, Lucknow Ms Bharati Chaturvedi highlighted the role of waste recycling in fighting the climate change. Through Indian and international best practices in waste recycling she presented important facts connected with the issue.

Dr GSC Rao shared with the audience about the importance of sugar-cane as energy crop. He substantiated his points through many interesting facts and figures connected with sugar- cane as energy crop.


Session II: The Right to Energy and the Right Energy

The speaker for the session was the scientist of international repute, Dr Chandra Mohan Nautlyal, Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeboatany. Lucknow. He presented before the audience a few startling facts connected with the climate change and energy and also the measures devised and being adopted for enhancing energy efficiency and clean energy. The session was chaired by Shri VK Joshi, veteran geologist and the former Director, Geological Survey of India, Lucknow.


Session Ill: Waste & Climate Change

The speaker of the session was Dr Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Senior Scientist, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, popular for his 'Scientoons' and recipient of many prestigious national and international awards. He presented through his cartoons various interesting and amazing facts connected with the climate change, waste with specialreference to e waste and energy efficiency.The session was chaired by Shri A Veliath Communication expert UNICEF (retd). All the session were concluded with presentation of mementos to the resource persons.
