Global Warming and Climate change are the buzz words and are Increasingly becoming the matter of concern for every citizen. Although, these are now seen as the most critical environmental challenges before the world today, yet the common citizens are unaware of the meaning, causes and also the Impact of these environmental hazards on their life or the life of society at large.Climate change in the form of dwindling fresh water supplies, shortage of electricity, increased pollution, drastic changes in seasonal temperatures and precipitation, shrinking forest cover etc contribute to environmental, social and economic threat. The rapid rise of atmospheric greenhouse gas emissions, historically and today, has the capacity to alter our economic systems, ecological networks and social relationships. There is an urgent need to create awareness among the common public about these issues so that they are able to cope with these changes - both mitigation and adaptation. In view of the Importance and urgency of these Issues, SN Tripathl Memorial Lectures have been focusing their deliberations on Climate change for four years, highlighting various aspects connected with the issue. The themes of last three events are as follows:-
